Our origins

Sundance Bay was founded in 2012 with an investment in two small multifamily assets. Since then, Sundance Bay has significantly expanded its multifamily portfolio and launched Senior Debt and Net Lease Investment verticals.

June Munshi is co-founder of The CenterCap Group, LLC, an investment banking firm focused on providing strategic capital and M&A advice to real estate companies, and advises the firm on Financial Sponsors relationships. Prior to forming The CenterCap Group, LLC, she was Co-Head of M&A and a Senior Managing Director with CB Richard Ellis Investors (CBRE’s investment management business). She joined CBREI in July 2007 to co-head the build out of the firm’s M&A efforts. From 1998-2007, June was a senior coverage banker in the real estate investment banking groups at Lehman Brothers and Wachovia Securities. During her career of over 25 years in the capital markets, June has been involved with over $35 billion of advisory assignments and executed over $15 billion of common equity, preferred equity and debt offerings for public REITs and closed end funds. She holds a B.A. in Economics and International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in finance from Columbia Business School.

Ryan is a Co-Founder, Partner, and Managing Director of Sundance Bay, leading the firm’s Equity platform and serving on the investment committees across all business verticals. Since co-founding Sundance Bay, Ryan has played a key role in building the firm into a diversified real estate investment manager with over $2.5 billion in assets under management, executing across equity and debt strategies in multiple asset classes. Prior to founding Sundance Bay, Ryan worked in real estate development and investments in Washington, D.C. and New York City, with experience in ground-up mixed-use development projects as well as multifamily and industrial acquisitions. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University and a Master of Real Estate Development from Columbia University.

Stan is a Co-Founder, Partner, and Managing Director of Sundance Bay, bringing over 30 years of experience in real estate development and investing. Over the course of a career, Stan has acquired, developed, capitalized, and managed more than $500 million in real estate across multiple property types. Prior to co-founding Sundance Bay, Stan served as Chief Executive Officer of Trophy Homes, overseeing the development and construction of more than 2,000 homes. Current investment activity includes ownership interests in office, retail, mobile home parks, residential land, and multifamily properties, along with early-stage investments in companies such as Omniture, Zuka Juice, and Altius Health Plan. Stan holds a bachelor’s degree in estate and financial planning from Brigham Young University and served as an adjunct professor at BYU from 2000 to 2011, teaching advanced real estate development and investing courses.

Mike is a Partner and Managing Director of Sundance Bay, co-managing the firm’s Debt Strategies platform. Since joining Sundance Bay, Mike has played a key role in scaling the Debt Strategies business from approximately $15 million to over $850 million in assets under management. Prior to Sundance Bay, Mike worked at McKinsey & Company in the Houston office, advising private equity funds on investment strategy, developing operational controls for large infrastructure businesses, designing construction and real estate investment strategies for a leading hospital system, and refining risk protocols for Fortune 500 companies. Earlier experience includes serving as a project manager at KBR, a global engineering and construction firm, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure and energy projects. Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in business and Russian from Brigham Young University and a Master of Business Administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Matthew is a Partner and Managing Director of Sundance Bay, bringing over 20 years of experience in real estate investing and capital markets. Prior to joining Sundance Bay, Matthew served as Senior Vice President of Capital Markets at Excel Trust, a publicly traded REIT that was later acquired by Blackstone, where responsibilities included equity capital formation and real estate acquisitions. Over the course of a career, Matthew has participated in raising more than $1 billion of equity and acquiring ove$2 billion of real estate assets. Earlier experience includes marketing and management roles at Microsoft, Lavastorm, and Polaroid. Matthew holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University and serves on the Board of Directors of the Sabin Children’s Foundation and Rady Children’s Hospital Facilities Committee.

Mark is a Partner and Managing Director of Sundance Bay, leading the firm’s Equity platform. Mark launched the Net Lease Investments at Sundance Bay in 2016 and has since co-developed and sponsored more than $600 million in projects. Prior to joining Sundance Bay, Mark served as Vice President at Hanover Financial, a Los Angeles-based real estate private equity firm, and previously founded Summit Net Lease, where private equity capital was syndicated for the development of single-tenant retail and industrial projects. Mark brings more than 17 years of experience in real estate investment and development. Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University and a Master of Real Estate Development from Arizona State University and is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

Andrew is a Partner and Managing Director of Sundance Bay, leading senior leadership and loan origination efforts across the firm’s Debt platform. Prior to joining Sundance Bay, Andrew served as Vice President at Clairmont Group in New York City, where responsibilities included acquisitions and property management for multifamily assets in the Tri-State area, along with supporting equity and debt capital raises. Earlier experience includes eight years as Vice President in the Real Estate Banking Group at Zions Bank, with a focus on construction and development lending, bridge and term loans, and commercial real estate financing across office, multifamily, retail, hospitality, government-leased, medical office, industrial, and self-storage assets. Over the course of a career, Andrew has transacted on more than $2 billion in commercial real estate assets. Andrew holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Utah and a Master of Real Estate Development from Columbia University.

Rebecca is a Managing Director of Sundance Bay, responsible for firm-wide operations and accounting, including financial management, reporting, and operational oversight across the firm’s Senior Debt and Structured Finance platforms. Responsibilities include corporate operations, financial reporting, process innovation, and day-to-day administration. Rebecca brings more than 20 years of operational and financial experience within the finance and investment management industries. 

Prior to joining Sundance Bay, Rebecca served as Corporate Controller at TPG Axon Management LP in New York City, overseeing global budget planning and analysis, financial statement preparation, management reporting, and management company operations. Earlier experience includes roles at Barclays focused on governance and controls, financial process improvement, and fund accounting, as well as public accounting experience as an auditor at Ernst & Young. Rebecca holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from The Pennsylvania State University Smeal College of Business and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Ann is Chief Compliance Officer and Managing Director of Sundance Bay, responsible for overseeing the firm’s compliance program and regulatory framework. Ann brings more than 30 years of experience in commercial real estate and investment management, with a background spanning compliance, finance, and accounting. 

Prior to joining Sundance Bay, Ann spent more than 20 years at Capri Capital Partners, LLC, most recently serving as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, with responsibility for corporate and portfolio reporting functions. Earlier experience includes senior accounting roles at BDO Seidman within the real estate advisory group, as well as real estate-focused accounting positions at AMDC and Hammond, Beeby and Babka in Chicago. Ann holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Valparaiso University, is a Certified Public Accountant, and is a member of the Illinois CPA Society.

Bryan is General Counsel of Sundance Bay, overseeing legal matters across the firm’s investment platforms and corporate operations. Bryan brings more than 15 years of experience advising institutional investors, state pension funds, private equity and hedge funds, family offices, banks, and developers on sophisticated commercial real estate, corporate, and investment transactions. 

Prior to joining Sundance Bay, Bryan practiced law at Seward & Kissel LLP in New York, a premier investment management law firm, with a focus on complex real estate and investment management matters. Bryan holds a Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University. Bryan is licensed to practice law in New York and Utah.

Roma is a Principal at Sundance Bay and serves as Chief Investment Officer for the firm’s Structured Finance platform. Roma brings extensive experience across real estate private equity, with involvement in the acquisition and asset management of more than $1.4 billion of real estate assets throughout the United States. Prior to joining Sundance Bay, Roma served as a Principal at Declaration Partners and as Vice President of Acquisitions and Asset Management at Artemis Real Estate Partners. Earlier experience includes roles on the U.S. Real Estate acquisitions team at The Carlyle Group and at Northwood Investors. 

Investment experience spans the capital stack across multifamily, office, retail, industrial, and healthcare assets, with geographic exposure across the East Coast, Midwest, Sunbelt, and West Coast. Roma graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and holds a Master of Design Studies in Real Estate from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Roma serves as Vice Chair of the Suburban Development and Redevelopment Council for the Urban Land Institute.

Prior to joining Sundance Bay, Bogdan served as Executive Vice President and Chief Construction Officer at a national general contractor specializing in value-add renovations of apartment communities. Current responsibilities span the acquisition process through the planning, development, and execution of redevelopment initiatives across existing and future multifamily assets.

Corey brings more than 13 years of experience in real estate development and asset management. 

Prior to joining Sundance Bay in 2019, Corey managed over $1.8 billion of Class A commercial retail, multifamily, self-storage, and office assets at PGIM Real Estate and previously worked as an analyst at Starwood Capital Group. Corey holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University.

Experience includes real estate private equity roles at a fund specializing in mezzanine debt and preferred equity investments. Earlier experience includes work with the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration. Daniel holds a dual bachelor’s degree in accounting and economics from Brigham Young University and a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from the same institution.

David is a Vice President at Sundance Bay and brings more than 25 years of experience across commercial and residential real estate investing, finance, and operations, including over six years with the firm. Prior to joining Sundance Bay full time in 2019, David built a broad real estate and operating background spanning development, distressed asset management, and senior financial leadership. 

Early career experience includes ten years as a Certified Public Accountant at Arthur Andersen & Co. and Moss Adams in Southern California. After relocating to Utah in 1994, David partnered in residential development activities, overseeing business and financial matters for the construction and sale of several hundred townhomes and condominiums annually. Subsequent experience includes serving as Chief Financial Officer of a technology company that was successfully sold in 2004, followed by investment and managing partner roles in Class A assisted living facilities in Arizona and Las Vegas. 

Between 2013 and 2019, David worked with Sundance Bay on a project-by-project basis while also operating distressed residential and commercial assets, including large-scale townhome, condominium, and office properties. David has originated and executed more than $100 million in acquisition and permanent financing and has been deeply involved in distressed residential and commercial workouts, including oversight of related legal and financial matters.

Don brings more than 30 years of experience in financial planning, reporting, business development, and land acquisition across the construction and homebuilding industries. Prior to joining Sundance Bay, Don served as Vice President and Division Controller at Lennar Homes in the San Francisco Bay Area, managing budgets exceeding $500 million for large-scale residential communities. Earlier experience includes roles at Granite Construction as Corporate Director of Financial Planning and Reporting and as Controller of the firm’s land company, overseeing a real estate investment portfolio with assets exceeding $200 million. Don holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Utah and a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from Brigham Young University.

Garrett is a Director at Sundance Bay, overseeing accounting and tax functions for the firm’s Multifamily platform. Garrett joined Sundance Bay in 2022 and brings deep experience in accounting, taxation, and financial operations across private equity–backed businesses. 

Prior to Sundance Bay, Garrett began a career at The Wolff Company, a Scottsdale-based real estate private equity firm, working on the in-house tax team and supporting complex investment structures during a period of significant asset growth. Garrett later served as Controller of UST, LLC, a private equity–owned contract manufacturer, with responsibility for audits, budgeting, financial reporting, sell-side due diligence, and accounting team buildout. During this period, UST doubled revenue to over $100 million and completed a strategic acquisition, after which Garrett served as General Manager of Equinox Nutra, leading operational integration and management team development. 

Garrett holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Science degree in Taxation from Arizona State University and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of Arizona.

Grayson is a Vice President of Equity Capital Markets at Sundance Bay, supporting capital raising and investor-facing initiatives across the firm’s real estate investment platforms. Responsibilities include capital formation, capital structuring, investor relations support, and operational coordination across the firm’s Multifamily Equity and Net Lease & Self-Storage Equity strategies. Grayson holds a Master of Science degree in Finance with a concentration in Real Estate Finance from the University of Utah and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and International Business from Westminster University.

Greg is a Director on the Capital Markets team at Sundance Bay, working with registered investment advisors, single-family offices, and multi-family offices on investments across the firm’s real estate investment platforms. Greg brings extensive experience across the U.S. high-net-worth distribution channel, including wirehouses and independent broker-dealers. 

Prior to joining Sundance Bay, Greg spent 12 years in senior leadership roles at Allocate, iCapital, and The Central Park Group; leading teams focused on alternative investment distribution. Earlier career experience includes 14 years as an institutional equity trader at Paine Webber, UBS, and Jefferies. Greg holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Manhattanville College, where collegiate leadership included serving as Captain of the men’s basketball team.

Griffin Quick is the Vice President of Investor Relations for Sundance Bay. He oversees all investor communication across the Firm, including responding to investor due diligence questionnaires, managing internal and external investor reports/data, and serving as the main point of contact between Sundance Bay and existing & prospective investors. Previously, Griffin was the Director of Investor Relations at RealtyMogul, a Los Angeles-based private equity real estate investment platform focused primarily on multifamily equity syndications and non-exchange traded REITs. Prior to that, he was a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley in Irvine, CA. He earned his Master’s in Business Administration at the University of Utah, David Eccles School of Business, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California at Davis.

Prior to joining Sundance Bay, Jerred served as Construction Loan Manager at Security National Life Insurance Company and previously managed large commercial loan portfolios at Zions Bank and U.S. Bank. Karin brings more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry, including over 12 years focused specifically on construction draws and project-level financing. 

Prior to joining Sundance Bay, Karin worked at Tri-Equity Management, Trophy Homes, and Hubble Homes, where responsibilities included financial oversight of single-family and multifamily residential construction projects throughout the state of Utah. Karin holds a bachelor’s degree from Utah Valley University.

Kim is Vice President of Accounting for the Income and Growth Fund at Sundance Bay, responsible for accounting oversight and financial reporting for the fund. Kim brings a strong background in accounting and audit, with experience spanning public accounting and investment management. 

Prior to joining Sundance Bay in 2021, Kim began an accounting career as an auditor at Ernst & Young. Kim holds a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Utah and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Prior to joining Sundance Bay, Landon worked at UMB Fund Services, a third-party fund administration firm, providing specialized accounting services to hedge funds, private equity funds, and real estate investment vehicles. Landon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Utah State University and a Master of Business Administration from Weber State University.

Lauren is a Director of Portfolio Management at Sundance Bay, bringing nearly a decade of experience across real estate finance, underwriting, asset management, and portfolio management. Lauren joined Sundance Bay in 2022 and supports portfolio-level oversight and performance across the firm’s investment strategies. 

Prior to Sundance Bay, Lauren served as Vice President of Asset Management for the Opportunity Zone platform at Bridge Investment Group (NYSE: BRDG), a $36 billion real estate investment firm. Earlier experience includes roles at ASB Real Estate Investments in Washington, D.C., with a focus on portfolio management for an $8 billion core-plus fund across multifamily, industrial, retail, office, and self-storage assets. Lauren holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Ohio Wesleyan University and a Master of Real Estate from Georgetown University.

Marina Palmer is a Vice President of Asset Management, Multifamily for Sundance Bay. She oversees asset performance and management operations for the firm’s properties in Texas, Arizona, St. Louis, and Utah. Prior to joining Sundance Bay, Marina spent eight years at Peak Capital Partners as an Asset Manager, overseeing a portfolio of multifamily properties in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Nevada, Louisiana, Utah, and North Carolina. Marina has an extensive background in property management and on-site operations. She began her career in 1997 as a leasing agent for Prowswood/Bridge Property Management in Salt Lake City, Utah. Marina quickly progressed to Senior Vice President with Horizon Property Management/Cornerstone, responsible for on-site operations, capital projects, and property renovations. Marina studied at the University of Utah and SLCC, was a board member for the Utah Apartment Association, and was a member of IREM.

Matt is a Vice President at Sundance Bay, responsible for originating new investment opportunities within the firm’s Self-Storage Equity platform. Matt joined Sundance Bay in 2023 and brings deep experience in acquisitions and investment execution within the self-storage sector. 

Prior to Sundance Bay, Matt spent seven years at Extra Space Storage in Salt Lake City in acquisitions and investments roles. In 2019, Matt was selected from the analyst group to lead the launch of a bridge lending platform, which deployed more than $1 billion of capital by the end of 2022. Robert manages the Finance Technology Department at Sundance Bay, which includes oversight of the Information Technology infrastructure as well as software and data management platforms. He has more than fifteen years of experience leading teams to solve business problems and provide scalable technology solutions. Before joining Sundance Bay, Robert oversaw IT and led technology initiatives at PEG Companies, such as designing, building, and training on a proprietary asset management platform with cloud-based portal as well as key integrations between cloud data management systems. Prior to that, Robert trained and managed a team of five developers, a project manager and two system administrators at Bridge Investment Group a real estate investment and property management firm which grew from 3.7 billion AUM to over 20 billion AUM during the time he was there. Robert holds a master’s degree from the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University.

Shaun is a Vice President at Sundance Bay, responsible for loan closings, servicing, and portfolio management across the firm’s debt investments. Shaun brings more than 20 years of experience in commercial real estate financing, with a background spanning both private and public lending institutions. 

Over the course of a career, Shaun has closed more than $750 million of loan originations and brings extensive expertise across the full closing lifecycle, including loan approval, documentation, and coordination with borrowers, legal counsel, and title companies. Shaun holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree from the University of Utah and maintains an appraisal trainee certification with the Utah Division of Real Estate.

Steven is a Vice President at Sundance Bay and brings more than 15 years of experience in real estate valuation, investment, and transaction execution. Steven joined Sundance Bay in 2020 and supports investment analysis and execution across the firm’s platforms. 

Prior to Sundance Bay, Steven spent four years at Phillips Edison and PREP Property Group, overseeing due diligence for acquisitions, dispositions, and property management activities representing more than $300 million in transaction value. Earlier experience includes eight years as a commercial real estate appraiser, valuing retail, residential development, industrial, office, and investment properties, as well as brokerage experience at Newmark representing domestic and international clients in leasing and acquisition assignments. Steven holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Utah.
